We Burn in the Fire and Are Reborn in the Shadows

The work examines the shadow side of collective identity - the suppressed, the controlled, the obedient - through the visual and conceptual language of BDSM. In BDSM practice, dominance is inseparable from care; power without responsibility is meaningless. This tension structures the installation.
Drawing on decades of enforced compliance under authoritarian rule, the work proposes an alternative Belarusian symbol: the reclamation of darkness, agency, and self-determination. Movement, sound, and material intensity become instruments of that reclamation.
