WE DANCE IN THE SHADOWS AND ARE REBORN IN THE FIRE, 2025
Kinetic sculptural work made from reused bicycle tires, cut and braided by hand into a wreath and whip-like forms with ribbon endings. The object takes the shape of an angel and rotates around its own axis, producing a slow, unstable dance.
The work addresses the relationship between authoritarian power and internalized attachment to it, as well as the refusal to recognize the darker parts of collective identity. Through movement and material transforma- tion, the sculpture treats darkness as something that can be confronted and converted into force.
Reused bicycle tires, metal chain, motor. 170x50x50cm
